Dr. Wanze Xie is an assistant professor at the School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences at Peking University (PKU). He obtained his Ph.D. in experimental psychology in 2017 from University of South Carolina. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Nelson Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School from October 2017 to July 2021 before he joined PKU.

His research focuses on the neurodevelopmental origin of social attention by studying the neural correlates of child visual attention and face/emotion perception from a brain network perspective. His recent research also explores how early adverse experiences would impact children’s brain health and cognitive outcomes. His research integrates a combination of behavioral (child looking behaviors), physiological (ECG and EEG/ERP), and neuroimaging (Cortical source localization, fNIRS and MRI) techniques. In his research, he always regards open science as important and has made contributions to it by sharing his data and codes through collaborative networks.

Dr. Wanze Xie serves on the editorial board for Developmental Science and Frontiers in Psychiatry. He was named as an in 2022 by the Association of Psychological Science.
